I write speeches for people and events in many different countries and I often think foreigners must sometimes think we Brits are a strange lot - and in some ways we are!
Typically we might drive a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer and then we might stop for an Indian takeaway and when we get home we probably sit on a Swedish sofa and watch American programmes on a Japanese television. Oh - and this is the best bit - we are very suspicious of anything foreign!!
