I wrote a speech recently for the wedding of a very famous Australian cricketer who married an English girl he had met while she was in Australia on a gap year after uni. When they met she knew nothing about cricket and had no idea who he was. He wanted her to like him for the person he was and not be influenced by the fact that he was a famous sportsman making a lot of money, so he told her he was a university student. While she was walking back to her flat after one of their early dates she walked past a KFC restaurant and suddenly noticed a big picture of a man who looked just like her new boyfriend. When she got to work the following morning she mentioned this to one of her colleagues who said ' Yes that's him - didn't you know he's a famous cricketer and plays for Australia!' She was pleased she hadn't known that when she met him.
