I’ve just finished my third wedding speech for a young man of 29. Nothing surprising writing a groom’s speech for him or indeed a best man’s speech but how come a father-of-the-bride’s speech? His sister was married recently, and sadly their Dad had died a few years ago so she asked her brother to give her away and do the father-of-the-bride speech. It can’t be often that a guy has done the ‘full set’ of wedding speeches before he’s thirty, and hopefully the fact that he keeps coming back to me suggests that he’s pleased with my speeches.
