I’ve just done a special anniversary speech for my youngest ever client, a 13 year-old boy paying tribute to his Dad at his 50th Birthday party. I enjoyed the challenge, having to remember all the time that a young schoolboy doesn’t say the same things and in the same way as an adult. This is specially true of jokes – most of the jokes that a 13 year-old will think are brilliant won’t appeal to an adult audience ! In this case I was able to persuade my young client not to use some of his first choice jokes, so all was well. The audience loved it and he made his Dad very proud. They will remember it for many years.
