International Preferences

I recently wrote a groom's wedding speech for a young Frenchman who was marrying an English girl. He had asked me if I could provide a humorous section commenting on the varied international preferences of the Brits. This is what I came up with:

“Typically a Brit will drive a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, on the way home he will grab an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab, then he will sit down on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese television. And this is the best bit……would you believe it, the most British thing of all is their suspicion of anything foreign.”
